It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to Thump! Celebration Bengaluru ½ Marathon and 10K Run.

Everybody Got a Reason to Celebrate! What are YOU celebrating on 17th December?

Love? New Job? Family? PB? Pet? Dream House? Anniversary? and what not…

Come get your endorphins flowing and celebrate your run.

You may have a few questions looming about the race day and how to prepare yourself, let me try and answer a few of them to help you prepare for the race day.

  • Where do I pick the Racer Kit and the event T shirt?

The Details of Racer Kit distribution at Bangalore:

Date: Friday, 15th December, 2017:     1.00 pm – 8.00 pm
Saturday, 16th December, 2017:11.00 am – 8.00 pm

Venue: Kotak Mahindra Bank, Next to Trinity Metro Station, M.G.Road, Bengaluru.

Please do not forget to pick up your racer kit on 15th or 16th December, 2017.
Racer Kit will not be distributed at the event venue on 17th December, 2017.
Contents in the Racer-Kit:
a) Participant Information Document along with the route map.
b) BIB with Chip
c) Pins for the BIB

  1. d) Event T-Shirt

    If you are unable to collect the racer kit personally, your nominated representative can collect it on your behalf, please send an authorization letter with him/her along with a Photo ID Proof.

    What you need to get to collect your Racer Kit:
    a) Your registration confirmation mail / Receipt Copy if registered Offline
    b) Photo-ID proof.
    c) Authorization letter if you are collecting on someone’s behalf.

d).The 30K, Half Marathon & 10K Run participants can show the Bib No received as SMS in their Hand Phone. BIB numbers will be informed to participants through SMS on Thursday, 14th December,2017.

 

We will accept email proofs on your phone / devices to avoid printouts and wastage of resources. Avoid copies of the ID proofs by producing the original.

Kindly Note: As Kotak Mahindra Bank is situated besides the Trinity Metro Station on MG Road, we request participants to use the Metro service to reach the venue.  Limited parking facility is available in the bank premises.

  • How do I reach the race venue?

  • Am I ready for the race day?

It’s perfectly normal to experience a wide range of emotions a few days before the race day.

As we enter the last week before the run, let us taper down and build our reserves for the race day.

Let us use this week to cross train, organize, hydrate, relax and taper. Prepare a checklist for your race day preparations, organize yourself to reach the venue, check if you can car pool and plan to arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes before the race time.

It may also be a good idea to head for a sports massage 3 to 5 days before the race day.

  • What time does the race start?

30K Run – 5.45 am

Half Marathon – 6.00 am

10K Run – 6.45 am

Kotak 6K Run – 8.00 am

 

Kindly plan to arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the race start time.

  • Is there a cause for the event?

We encourage our runners to support Sukrupa school (http://sukrupa.org/) who is our cause partner for the event. Sukrupa is a school for the underprivileged and any contribution to kids education is appreciated.

Suman Nagarkar our friend and noted cinema artist and others are running to further their cause and you can spot her for a selfie post her 21K run and post on social media and blog

  • How are the aid stations planned?

We have planned our aid stations every 2 kms. They will serve water, Gatorade, Salt, Sugar, Fruits and Biscuits. To support our green cause, the aid stations will use re-usable water cups which will be hygienically maintained. Runners who have concerns sharing the water cups are requested to carry their own water bottles and refill at our aid stations.

Registrations for Kotak 06K Run will continue both online and offline at expo venue.  Please encourage your family, colleagues and friends to register and participate in the run
